Ballet Academy offers a
unique opportunity for students wishing to pursue dance as a career. The
Baltimore Dance Ensemble is a pre-professional Dance Company open to Academy
members 8 and up. Members of the company are selected through an
audition process. The company also includes special guest performers such as
professional dancers, teachers, and dancers from around the state Work
The company performs a full length Nutcracker around the holidays as well as a specially themed spring performance. The company also performs at schools, summer and winter festivals, the Maryland Dance festivals and other public events. This gives members numerous and diverse opportunities to perform in a professional setting. Company members are required to rehearse additional hours outside of class time and learn about stage preparation, lighting, scenery and many other aspects of staging a live performance.
Love Company members are prepared to enter the world of dance from a professional perspective. From auditions to production, the real world professional experience of the Academy directors along with the extra in depth training the dancer receives, give them the edge and realistic vision of the world of professional dance.
Dance White Marsh Ballet Academy students have been accepted to The Julliard School, Richmond Ballet School, Washington School of Ballet, Peabody Preparatory, Baltimore School for the Arts, and Carver Center for the Arts. Many students have been awarded scholarships to such well-known schools as Maryland Youth Ballet, Point Park University, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Ballet Theater of Maryland and many other dance schools and organizations.
