Dear Parent,

 Dear Parents and Students:

It is with great joy and excitement that we invite you to join us for our 2010 season in dance. White Marsh Ballet Academy is a professionally run dance school, preparing students for a career in dance, if they so choose.  Class emphasis is on technique and development of performance skills.  This approach, along with individual attention, allows instructors to bring out the best in each student.  We emphasize dance as an art form and believe that through hard work and being rewarded through achievement of goals leads to self-confidence and enjoyment of our dancers.

With a staff that promotes enthusiasm and care for students first, we strive to instill the passion of dance as an art form within each student.  The goal of our teachers is to inform and inspire; creating thinking dancers and preparing them for careers in the field of dance as well as life.  WMBA is a family-oriented school focused on communication, respect and self-motivation.  Our teaching staff consists of teachers who have all been professional dancers and understand the training needed to appreciate the art of dance.  Our teachers also use supplemental techniques including teaching with imagery to help our student’s master technical skills in a fun, understandable way regardless of the age of the child.  Students participating in ballet at WMBA are trained in the Russian method of ballet, which is commonly used in performance by professional dance companies. Each teacher instructs according to a specifically designed syllabus to ensure appropriate progress from one class level to another.

Many students at WMBA have been awarded scholarships to such well-known schools as Maryland Youth Ballet, Point Park University, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Ballet Theater of Maryland and many other dance schools and organizations. White Marsh Ballet Academy students have been accepted to The Julliard School, Washington School of Ballet, University of Maryland College Park, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Highpoint University, Elizabethtown College, Mercyhurst College, Peabody Preparatory, Baltimore School for the Arts, Carver Center for the Arts and North Carolina School for the Arts.

WMBA holds a yearly school performance that is open to all registered students.  Additional performance opportunities are available and encouraged through  our pre-professional dance company in residence.  To experience first-hand all that WMBA has to offer, please visit the studio during operating hours or call at 410-931-3844

We understand that choosing a dance school for your child is a very important decision for a parent.  To that end, we hope that you will choose to entrust your child’s dance education to our very qualified and energetic staff.

Sincerely, Sandra L. Prehoda/Shari Vazquez-WMBA DIRECTORS
