Advanced Program (Ages 13-18)
At this level, students will concentrate on more complex movements, expression, and musicality. They will build strength, stamina and technique through lengthier combinations and being introduced to more advanced movements. To advance to the next level, students must demonstrate their awareness of vocabulary and proper technique. This is also an age in which dancers can choose to audition in our dance company, which develops their performance skills and gives them the opportunity to perform throughout the year.

The dancers are serious about increasing their repertoire of ballet steps and combinations as well as building their strength and stamina. Emphasis will be placed on polishing technique, body positions and stage placement. Classical and contemporary styles of ballet are presented. While there is an emphasis on Vaganova, other schools of thought will be incorporated. Dancers at this level must be taking technique class at least three times a week. Variations class may be added. At least 3 pointe classes are recommended for these dancers. The curriculum moves quickly and this class is meant for the focused and dedicated ballet dancer.
